“Doused in Florals” by David Aronson (NSFW)
By Live Fast Mag
There is an inherent sensuality to flowers. From the curves of the silky petals to their architectural reproductive system, there is a godly femininity brimming from each bulb. David Aronson contrasts this subtle sexiness found in nature with the female form. Missy’s body is illuminated with traces of florals, at ease and relaxed as she relishes in the similarities she shares with each blossom, a synergistic relationship that blooms right before our eyes.
Doused in Florals represents the unity of nature and womanhood. Dive into the full story below and keep up with Aronson’s work here.

The happy Brooklyn home of an artist
By email@example.com (My Scandinavian Home)
Here in Malmö, the sun is shining and I’ve got one of my besties visiting from London – hurrah! I hope you’ve got some great things to look forward too this weekend too? If so, I’ve got just the home to match the FRIYAY mood. This cheerful apartment in Brooklyn, New York belongs to the incredibly talented Leah Goren, an illustrator and surface pattern designer who counts brands such as Anthropologie, Penguin and Revlon as her clients and is the author of BESTIES and co-author of Ladies Drawing Night. Her natural eye for bold colours and playful design shines through in her relaxed home where art, rugs and accessories add cheerful pops of colour and vibrant green plants stand mid-century pieces and other vintage finds. Enjoy!
Such a great home! I love all the quirky touches. Is there anything that catches your eye?
Get the look from Leah’s home: source vintage terracotta pots here, the big plant next to the parrot wall hanging is a fiddle leaf fig tree (check out this piece on how to keep them alive and well). Knit pillow by Leah, source a similar pouf here. Visit Leah’s shop for colourful and playful art and accessories.
You can read the full interview and see more pictures of Leah’s lovely home here.
In case you’d like to see more from the neighbourhood – here are a few other fabulous Brooklyn homes to enjoy: the Brooklyn home of a Swedish expat, the boho home and studio of a creative duo and the lovely, relaxed home of a fashion designer. Oh so inspiring!
While on the subject of New York, my family and I are headed in that direction this summer – eeeee, so excited! We’re planning on staying in Manhattan for a few days and then looking for somewhere to go relatively nearby to explore and chill out afterwards – any tips?
Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday!

Lisa’s happy Parisien home
By My Scandinavian Home
I’m in the mood for something bright and cheerful today, how about you?! Want to come with me to explore the happy Parisien home of Lisa, blogger behind Make My Lemonade and founder of wear lemonade? Addicted to yellow and sequins, Lisa lives by the philosophy: ‘if life gives you lemons, make lemonade.’ Love that! Her lovely apartment in the 10th arrondissement of Paris is full of quirky one off pieces and touches of pink, blue, green, and of course yellow! Bienvenue!
Credit: InsideCloset shared with kind permission.
This makes me want to go home and add splashes of yellow everywhere – how about you?! It’s just such a happy colour!
A few items I know and love in Lisa’s home: Petite Friture suspension vertigo (pink light) – also seen in this home, Eames side chairs, Eames rocker, sheepskin throw, source banana leaf fabric by the yard here (love this!). Pick up rattan sunburst mirrors here.
The colours and textures in this home remind me of some of the lovely homes from The Netherlands I’ve featured- don’t you think?
Have a happy day!
PS There’s a GREAT give-away over on instagram right now to win a print of your choice from Toi Art Gallery. It only takes a second to enter too!
PPS Back by popular demand, you can now subscribe to My Scandinavian Home and receive posts directly to your mail box once again (featured on the left here on the blog). Thank you!

The Best Hotel Pool To Sneak Out For A Sneaky Afternoon Drink
By Vivianne Lapointe
I’m a firm believer that Fridays are for self-care – massages, nails, facials, day drinking, you name it. If you’re lucky enough to be freelancer with a flexible schedule, try treating yourself to an afternoon off at the end of the traditional work week, and put in a few hours on Sunday instead. This recent habit has tremendously helped increase my productivity.
And much as I love a good pool party at the Standard, sometimes, after a long week of hustle and driving around the city, I often don’t feel like meshing with the trendy West Hollywood crowd.
All I want is a little nook by the pool at Beverly Hills’ best kept secret, the Avalon. Book late lunch meeting at Viviane restaurant and linger around the property until happy hour. And the best part is? Free valet. See you there! <3
